I am a professional photographer from Finland – specialized in horses.

Horses have always been important in my life. When I was young, I used to spend all my spare time at the stables.Horse is a breathtaking animal, such a precious creature. They are tender and sensitive, yet having their wild nature. My goal is to capture the beauty of the horse to my photos & art – with respect and passion. I would be honored to photograph Arabian horses and Arabian horse shows – near me and abroad.

Everything began with my fond of horses – hours, days, weeks, months spent in stable and on horseback. Photography came later, and the topic came itself … Step by step photographing from the hobby became a fascination that was taking more and more place in my life to became the job in the end when there was no time for nothing else. And while there is still more photos in my archive only one sunbeam is enough to force me to pack my equipment and begin the new photo session.
Amongst lots of wonderful creatures in the world not many of them gives us so much impression that horses do – especially Arabian. I’m not the exception to this. That’s why I try to make the pictures the way it shows not only the horses but also the feelings that rises in me while looking at horse’s beauty, pride and brave, it’s affection for the new born foal that makes it’s first steps on the side of it’s mother.
When I came to Janow Podlaski for the first time, 5 years ago, and then to Michałów and Białka the new chapter in my life began. With all the legend and stories in my head, with jumping heart, full of hope but also with fear if the reality could be compared with dreams I came into the stables at the kingdoms of Arabian horses that are placed in this unique studs. Bewitched by the most beautiful Arabian horses in the world and also the wonderful landscapes, architecture and people I came back to every studs for many times and these trips yielded a crop with the publishing of my album “Arabian horses – Białka, Janów Podlaski, Michałów”, issued last year. However I can not imagine that this could be the end of my story with horses. So many pictures are waiting to be taken …

“It is said, that the three most beautiful things in the world are: a woman in a dance, a frigate under full sail and a horse in a gallop. It should come as no surprise that while exploring the secrets of photography I have decided to choose from the most beautiful things – there’s always a greater chance for success, than taking photographs of something else. However, since I live in the mountains, not very high, but still in the mountains, where the frigates are not easy to find, especially under the sail and my wife probably wouldn’t appreciate the search for dancing women – I chose the horses. Another saying states that whoever mounts a horse – mounts the wind. Believe me, now I’m sure that whoever takes a picture of a horse in a gallop – tames the element. For a moment, for a fraction of a second. Enjoy and thank you for taking the moment to view my photographs. It’s equally important to me.”

Her artictic career began in 1989 with individual photo-exhibition in Wilanów Community Centre in Warsaw. She co-operates with “Koń Polski”, “Konie i Rumaki” as well as with few foreign magazines not only by photographing but also by writing reportages about horses. Since 2002 she publishes her own calendar: “Horses in Urszula Sawicka’s photography”. Her photos were used in such a books as: “Why the horse is neighing”, ” Horse riding for disabled”, “Horse riding coursebook”, “ABC of horse riding” and “Karmazyny and żuliki”. She has also her collection of postcards issued. She used to travel a lot and photograph the most exotic horse breeds. She makes the pictures for albums, folders, catalogues on request.

Nancy Pierce was born loving horses, and the Arabian horse quickly became her favorite. Arriving at a career in photography late in life, she was an English, journalism, and art teacher for 18 years, and a very busy web designer for 10 years before deciding to follow her dream to photograph Arabian horses for a living.

– Capturing the unique beauty of each horse I photograph is my life’s passion. The driving, overwhelming desire to capture and re-create the soul and spirit of the horse – that’s what I live for! I love what I do, and I feel extremely blessed, in my still very young career (bought my first semi-pro camera in September 2006), to have been able to photograph some of the most beautiful and some of the most renowned creatures in the world – Nancy says. – Anyone can fill a frame – my goal is to capture the sheer beauty, power, character, and personality of the horses I photograph, an artist’s rendering of each horse. And I’m still learning more about how to do that every day!

Nancy’s photos have been published in magazines around the world, including Arabian Horse World, Arabian Horse Times, Arabian Horse Today, Arabians Magazine, and she is a contributor to StraightEgyptians.com and PolskieAraby.com. She resides in Arkansas, USA, with her Arabian mare and filly.

Born 1976 in Austria, Julia started with 10 years to pass as much time as possible surrounded by horses. When she was 14, a straight egyptian arabian mare came into her life and this was the beginning of the all known „deseas“ ARABITIS. During her studies of political science and spanish, Julia traveled a lot in different countries of Africa where she discoverd her second big passion – the photography. After having worked with Paso Finos in Costa Rica and having lived in Spain, where she managed a small private breeding farm of Purebred Spanish Horses (PRE), she decided to play all on one card and started her own business of equine photography in 2012. After quite a short time, she gained the confidence of breeders of arabian and spanish horses and achieved to realize a type of meaningful photography which was published already in several magazines (e.g. The Arabian Magazine). „The goal of my work is to capture the beauty, personality and the unique character of each horse which is dancing in front of my camera. I love to experiment with light and to outbid the limitations of my camera. My endless passion and love for horses shows me every day new ways of perception and sensation for my models.“ Julia offers apart from her photography all type of advertisement services around horses. In Austria her main client is Al-Qahira Spanish Arabians, the biggest breeding farm of spanish arabians in central Europe.

Awarded in international photography contest: “Equine Ideal: Summer 2004 Online Photography Contest” organized by Equine Photographers.
His picture won the “Gold Prize” at important photographer’s competition (few thousands of pictures from around the world) organized every year by Japanese photo website. Two next pictures were marked out as well.

Born in 1967 in Raciborz. She currently lives in Leichlingen (North Rhine Westfalia). She contributes to „Araber Journal”, “Araber Weltweit”, „Arabian Horse World”, „Tutto Arabi”, „Koń Polski” and websites (polskiearaby.com, straightegyptians.com among others) and other Arabian horse publications. She works with Canon EOS Mark II D. Although she sometimes photographs horses of other breeds, Arabian horses are certainly her favorite. “I can watch and admire them without end. I will let you in on a little secret – sometimes I even have tears of joy in my eyes at the sight of”.

My adventure with horses begun in Arabika stable, where I learned the secrets of horses’ life, behaviours and habits under the guidance of Slawek Bubas – the owner. I saw how they were eating, drinking, quarrelling, seducing each other and how they were born.

Slawek tough me when to take picture of horses in order to gain its beauty and how to show proper figure and posture. At the beginning the effects were… very interesting, that I can easily admit. Every picture of a horse means facing different character that requires the individual approach because horses are like beautiful, charmed women… Those intelligent creatures can be sad, happy and even aggressive. We have to understand it because if we love horses we love them for good or bad. When I was for the first time in a big stud called Tarus Arabians, I went to the meadow where about thirty mares with their foals were grazing. I sat on the grass in order to watch them. Suddenly all of them started to surround me and they were coming closer and closer. At the beginning I was anxious, even afraid. When they were above me, I looked up and I saw smiling muzzles. They were pulling my hair, T-shirt, bag. Horses observed, smelled, tasted me and… went back to their duties. It was an amazing experience which gave me the feeling of safety. I was accepted. With pleasure I will take up orders connected with horses in every part of the country.

I work as a photographer, among other magazines, for Newsweek, Forbs, Przegląd and Polish Photographers Agency. My adventure with horses still goes on.

It seems that my fascination for horses is genetic. My great grandfather bred horses and because of it my grandfather was in love with horses since his childhood, He joined uhlan and fought in the Polish – Russian war in 1920. These animals attracted my attention always and everywhere – from warmblood steed to typical draft horse. So when I received my first very simple foto camera from my parents I’ve started my search for this beloved photographic object which was a horse – what was not so easy in big city. I‘ve started fotographing almost every animal I’ve seen – my dogs, cats also sunrises, sundawns, various plants and flowers.

After some time I sent my photographs to monthly youth magazine for photo competition. The direct effect of this was the prize for gaining the first place and after some time the next prize, this time for taking second place. When finaly I was able to use my fathers Zenit camera, he explained me how a shutter and screen works and so I went to take more pictures. In this time I’ve started to go to Mrs. Reder’s horse camps. She taught me the rules of stable and how to ride a horse properly. On this camps I’ve really started to learn how to photograph horses. But since I was participating in this camps only on holidays, my contact with horses was very limited.

Soon came the time for an important decision – studies. After passing the exams for zootechnic in Warsaw and horse management in Lublin I’ve chosen Lublin. At beginning of my studies I’ve started riding in MKJ Cwał in Radom so after short time I joined the mambers of this club and because I had a good foto camera (Canon) all horses were good photographed. After year and a half I came to Mr. Andrew Wójtowicz’s stable in Belżyce. And here my dreams became reality – dreams of intercourse with arabian horses: every day I had five hours of riding and after that I could sit the rest of the day in the company of horses. Two years spent in Belżyce gave me an opportunity see the horses throught: race training with arabian and Thoroughbred horses, mares in foal, foals, young horses. Here I also had undoubted pleasure of being a main rider of fenomenal mare – Savvannah at the time of first season in her racing career. I’ve visited important places of arabians breeding for example: SK Janów Podlaski, SO Białka and regularly Sluzewiec of course. Next year I’ve spent in Mr. Redestowicz’s stable in Radom. In each one of this places I’ve used kilometers of negatives and discovered the secrets of proper horse silhouette photography. I used this amount of material to make my foto exhibitions – three indyvidual (Migaweczka gallery, Radom Town Hall and AR Lublin) and one collective exhibition (Homeless Gallery in Lublin). Two of my pictures appeared in monthly horse magazine „Koń Polski”.

I raised nearby the beautifully placed Białka State Stud. My spare time I used to spend on the pastures with the sheets of paper and a pencil. The childish fascination became to be the great passion and love for horses. I have finished the art college. This school helped me to see the beauty of colours of my homeland. For me – the most beautiful of all. Now I paint and photograph Arabian horses. I also take part in painting- and photo sessions and exhibitions.
