Lick this! – Polish Arabians on stamps

The Polish Post has announced the issue of four postage stamps with photograph portraits of Arabian horses, champions from the most famous Polish studs: Janów Podlaski, Michałów and Białka. The color stamps are graced by Pesal, Ganges, Pianissima and Piaff as photographed by Lidia and Wiesław Pawłowscy. The stamps will be sold in sheets of 16. They are accompanied by two FDC (First Day Circulation) envelopes, which display herds of running horses. This is further matched by an occasional date-marker with a silhouette of a horse, used in the First Post Office in Warsaw (Warszawa 1). The envelopes and stamps were designed by Witold Hyszko and the name behind the design of the date-marker is Maria Dziekańska.

The value of the stamps is 2 x 3,55 PLN, 1 x 1,35 PLN and 1 x 3 PLN. The circulation: 4 x 800.000 stamps, the size: 31,25 x 43 mm.
