As we previously informed, HDB Sihr Ibn Massai (Massai Ibn Marenga – Mayana/BJ Thee Mustafa), bred by Ingrid & Dieter Gerbaulet from Germany, owned by Darius Arabians from Germany & Giampaolo Gubbiotti from Italy, a Junior Bronze Medal winner from Verona, arrived in Poland, leased by Grabów nad Pilicą Stud. Yesterday, on Sunday, he was presented in front of a numerous audience – despite of a very frosty weather – that consisted of Polish private breeders. The stallion’s owners – Claudia Darius and Giampaolo Gubbiotti have also joined the meeting. All guests were greeted warmly and there was a snack awaiting them.

The Grabów presentation which was held in a Christmas atmosphere, began with the mares parade – after all, they are future Sihr’s partners. The show was lead by the stud’s owner, Tomasz Tarczyński. In a newly constructed hall we saw Złotnica (Ekstern – Zguba/Enrilo), in foal by Pegasus, Doris Day (Ganges – Dalida/Probat), in foal by Ekstern and Fuma (Monogramm – Flota/Probat), in foal by FS Bengali – as the host emphasized, she is the best mare in the stud, in terms of pedigree. Two fillies also showed up (by Pegasus and by Perseusz), and after them the hero of the day appeared – HDB Sihr Ibn Massai, accompanied by another stallion, Fireball (Magnum Psyche – Flotylka/Emigrant). HDB Sihr Ibn Massai, a bit restless in the new environment, proved his great temperament, however, after a while he was persuaded to pose calmly for photographs. This chestnut stallion with a beautifully shaped head has a rich show career: aside from the Verona title, he also became a champion of Malpensa and Marina di Pietrasanta shows (Italy) and a German National Reserve Champion in Aachen. He won all those titles in the 2009 show season that has just ended.

HDB Sihr Ibn Massai is a representative of pedigree that is quite rare in Poland. His damline is a Spanish-bred Verana 1934, while the sireline is Latif or. ar. 1903, bred by Anazeh Fedaan, imported to France. A Tiersk-bred racing stallion Pesennik (Kumir – Pesnia/Aswan), the sire of Kwesta, who is Kwestura’s dam, also comes from this family.

HDB Sihr Ibn Massai, as the son of a stallion with a show view, Massai Ibn Marenga (Mirokan – Marenga/Menes), is seen as a future father of show horses. Massai Ibn Marenga was born in Sax Arabians and stays in Darius Arabians – both studs’ breeding program is based on Russian blood, mainly from Tiersk Stud. Massai Ibn Marenga was successfully shown (he won, among other trophies, the title of 2005 Junior Reserve Champion in Towerlands, he also became a 2005 German National Reserve Champion, a 2005 Lowland Cup Junior Champion 2005, and a 2003 German Junior Champion), and his offspring also did well at rings (aside from Sihr, for example DA Africa, who went second in the yearling fillies class in Wels and in Verona 2007).

In the 2011 season we will find out the quality of the offspring, born as a result of a connection between HDB Sihr Ibn Massai and Polish mares.
