Yesterday, precisely at 6 pm, the international A show in Menton on the French Riviera began, with the female classes evaluated all through the day. Poland (in the two year old fillies’ class) was represented only by Psyche Victoria (Ekstern – Pallas-Atena), bred and owned by Chrcynno Stud, who presented herself among seven other fillies, mostly already known from show arenas and highly assessed – the first three scores surpassed 92 points! Psyche Victoria (368,5 points from four judges, with an average of 92,125) placed second behind Abha Palma (Marwan Al Shaqab – Abha Ghazali) bred and owned by Marieta Salas from the Spanish stud Ses Planes. Abha Palma also received an award for the best head. Third came Lady Adelina DD (Psytadel – Monogrammed Lady), fourth – the French Zawah de Lam (AS Kayro – Wilaya de Lam), fifth – the Ses Planes-bred Abha Al Shaqab (Abha Fadl – Abha Galati) from Qatar, sixth – Sophie El Power JQ (Power World JQ – Elkada Sahibi), bred in Brazil and owned by Az.Agr.Tripodi.

„Up until the end we did not know the final results, because the sound system here was rather weak”, says Alicja Poszepczyńska, the breeder of Psyche Victoria. “It turned out that two of the judges gave Psyche Victoria first place (she received from them as much as 93,5 points), while she was evaluated the lowest by the Moroccan judge – only 89,5.”

„It is one of the most important shows in the world”, adds Krzysztof Poszepczyński, „strongly sponsored by the Arabic countries, mainly by Saudi Arabia (Al Khalediah). Another sponsor is the British stud of Halsdon Arabians. It is really hard to squeeze into the top spots, the competition is huge, so we are very pleased with Psyche Victoria’s results.”

On Sunday Psyche Victoria will compete in the Championships. Apart from her, the only filly with Polish pedigree that was presented in the show was the yearling Passion Isztar (Canzon Psyche – Pamira), owned by Ilona Pfeifer, a breeder residing in France, but bearing Polish origins. The filly however was not able to best her rivals. Today’s male classes include Polish-breds, but foreign-owned horses: Piwosz (Arbil – Piwnica) of Jean-Jacques Savenier, as well as Edin (Laheeb – Edina) and Emrod (Emigrant – Empressa), both owned by Joseph Geenen. The classes will begin at 9:45 am (part one) and will be continued at 3:30 pm. The event is scheduled to end at 11 pm with special presentations.
