From Saturday (27th November) the nine days-long XXXIII Salon du Cheval is being held. At the end of the event the World Arabian Horse Championships under the patronage of H.R.H. King of Morocco will take place. The organizers are expecting several thousands visitors, as the previous show welcomed more than 180,000 visitors from France!.

The program for 2004 includes many attractions and non – stop features, as well as major events such as the Night of the Horse or the 14 kms long Parade through Paris with stops besides the Eiffel Tower and Louvre and the various horse breeds and donkeys presentations or equestrian competitions (dressage, western, ladies side – saddle, show jumping, joung riders, costume and driving).

On Friday (December 3th) from 10:00 am the World Arabian Horse Championships begins with qualifying rounds for mares, the qualifying rounds for stallions will be held on 4th December from 10:00 am and the Finals on 5th December from 10:00 am. Keep the fingers crossed for Polish horses!

We will introduce the official program of the show later and beginning from Friday we will inform you about the results of Polish horses competing in their classes thanks to Mrs. Izabella Pawelec – Zawadzka and Ms. Katarzyna Dolińska being in Paris (see the special topic at our FORUM to be established). Additionally at the end of each day of the championships we will put the total results of the day for Polish horses. Also the organizers provide the special website for WCh results: http://www.salon-cheval.com

Of course we will also release the “Polish horses at World Championships” photogallery by Katarzyna Dolińska after the event!.

As the World Championships is one of the most important shows to collect the points to ECAHO Cup classifieds we would like to remind you the places of Polish horses in this rank before World Championships:

  • Fillies
    • Pianissima (Gazal Al Shaqab-Pianosa) – II place (82 pts with 3 shows) after Sundos Al. Nasser (Ashhal Al Rayyan-MS Elvira) – I place (116 pts with 5 shows)
  • Colts
    • Girlan-Bey (Pesal-Gracja Bis) – I place (98 pts with 4 shows), before Psadisho Ibn Esstashan (Esstashan-Psayada Bint Psyche) II place (85 pts with 5 shows)
  • Mares
      • Premiera (Piechur-Premia) I place (62 pts with 4 shows) before Emira (Laheeb-Embra) II place (58 pts with 3 shows

    h)

  • Stallions
    • Wadim (Grandorr-Warszula) III place (56 pts with 5 shows)

As the mares and stallions situation seems to be clear – the ECAHO thophy should go the the Polish mare – but Wadim seem to have no chance for winning place. The interesting situation has its place in fillies and colts – Pianissima’s place is quite unsure after Sundos Al Nasser that took place in more shows and her place seems to be unbeatable so far … Girlan-Bey – leader of the colts rank will not go to World Championships as his Swedish owners decided but – as we have counted – if he has a very good luck he could remain at the first place even when he not goes to Paris …
