In the meantime the Dubai English – language daily newspaper Khaleej Times informs that the blood test taken from the winner horse (Hachim – United Arab Emirates) just after race finish was positive for prohibited substances. The second test results are going to come soon – if it would be positive as well the gold medalist of 2005 World Endurance Championships will be Barbara Lissarague (FRA), silver – Sh. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (UAE), bronze – Sh.Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan (UAE).
The Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) has formally written to the Organising Committee of the World Endurance Championship asking for a detailed explanation as to why, without prior knowledge of the FEI, the winner of the Individual competition Sheik Hazza bin Sultan Al Nahyan was not presented with his gold medal during the closing ceremony. The official results are published on the FEI website. Those results remains unchanged.
Endurance.pl website also informs about 5 horses from foreign countries that were taking part in 2005 World Endurance Championships and which have Polish descendants in their pedigrees. You can find them here.
