28-30 March the IInd Dubai International Arabian Horse Championships will be held under the patronage of HH Sh. Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and UAE Minister of Finance & Industry.
The event will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre – Exhibition Halls and will be enhanced in 2005 with the inaugural Dubai International Horse Fair.
The Championships is being said to be the most prestigious competition of its kind in the world – the owners of the Champions will drive away in a luxury motor vehicle, and the Reserve Champion owners will also receive a prestigious car.
Because the organizers wish to highten the standard of the show and make it not only a competition for Middle Eastern horses the 2004 European Champions and Reserve were kindly invited to take part in the event.
The 2004 European Reserve Champion Colt is Polish-bred Girlan-Bey (Pesal-Gracja-Bis/Monogramm) owned by Kristoffersen family (SWE) and the owners confirmed that he has already received the invitation and will be participating in Dubai.
Girlan-Bey is currently preparing for the show in Sweden, where he also will be available for breeding to a limited number of mares during 2005.
We have no confirmation yet if Polish mares – Pianissima from Janów Podlaski Stud (European Junior Champion Filly) as well as Michałów State Stud bred and owned mares: Emira (European Champion Mare) and El Dorada (European Champion Mare) on lease to US will compete at the Dubai Show.
