Last year when we were writing about the „three musketers” – three Padrons Psyche’s sons to be used in Poland for the first time all of the breeders were unanimously saying that the first foals will show the value of these stallions. Now all of those 3: Etnodrons Psyche, Pilin Psyche and Canzon Psyche have already their progeny born. What are the first impressions of the breeders?
„Every single breeder that bought the breeding of Etnodrons last year is very satisfied. The best proof is that they come back to breed their mares again this year” – says Stanisław Redestowicz, owner of Etnodrons Psyche and breeder of all of the 3 stallions by Padrons Psyche – „Etnodrons covered 23 mares last year that is possibly the best record for Polish stallion privately bred” – he adds.
Andrzej Wójtowicz – owner of Canzon Psyche that covered 6 mares last season is more sceptic about the interest of breeding to the stallion this year: „The interesti in Canzon Psyche’s semen is relative so far and I don’t expect more due to the big supply of the stallions representing Padrons blood in Poland now. Polish breeders may choose amongst Enzo, Psytadel, Etnodrons Psyche…”
Still the opinions about „three musketers’” progeny are quite optimistic. „Canzon Psyche is the sire of the ladies only so far – Andrzej Wójtowicz says – 3 of his foals born untill now are the fillies”. The stallion’s owner underlines his ability to pass good legs and long neck to the foals but the heads of the foals already born describes as middling.
Czesław Witko – Pilin Psyche’s owner see the opposite tendency in his foals saying that such a heads that the foals by Pilin Psyche have, have never been born at Kielnarowa stud before. Stansław Redestowicz’s oppinion is similar: „I can not say that Etnodrons spoils the heads. In my oppinion it’s an universal stallion for all kind of mares – he is correct, high (157 centimeters!), with good head and long neck and it seems that he passes these features to his progeny. Wojciech Kowalik, the good-known Polish show trainer has already been watching the foals by Etnodrons and he is possibly interested in training some of them for international shows” – proudly adds Mr Redestowicz who is going to introduce the next stallions of this sireline to the Polish breeding. It is Eronissimo (by Magnum Psyche).
Just to prod that the male progeny of Padrons Psyche in Poland, besides the „musketers” are also: 4 years old Gloriet Psyche (out of Glorietta) and 2 years old son of Michałów-bred Zagrobla – Zigi-Zan. Possibly those two will also enrich Polish Arabian horse breeding.
