Yesterday in UAE the prestigious International Dubai A show began. It is being held together with the biggest international horse fairs in the Middle East – Dubai International Horse Fair (DIHF). During the show, run under the partonage of HH Sh. Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, and UAE Minister of Finance & Industry, the big two favourites are going to meet – the rivals www.ajmanstud.com/stallions/esparto.html of completely different pedigrees, types and characters.
Esparto (Ekstern – Ekspozycja/Eukaliptus), 5 years old Michałów-bred stallion, just on lease to UAE (Ajman Stud) and 8 years old “showman” (ex. 2001 European Champion, 2006 World and All Nations Cup Champion Stallion) Laheeb’s son – Al Lahab (out of The Vision HG by Thee Desperado), bred by Ariela Arabians owned by Family Friedmann from Germany are going to meet each other at this show.

Both stallions have their own groups of fans and seems to be considered as the two candidates to the titles. On StraightEgyptians.com (http://www.straightegyptians.com/forum/index.html) discussing forum there is even the poll to vote for each of those to be a Champion or Reserve. Al Lahab wins so far.
It’s possible that the Middle-Eastern ground will be lucky for Al Lahab – Egyptian in type though Esparto, that „straight from the transport” won the Qatar Internationals, looks very handsome at the current owner website’ pictures still (http://www.ajmanstud.com/stallions/esparto.html) .

The stallions, if they both compete, would be judged in their (separate) classes of age tomorrow, 4th April, in the evening. For the same day the championships are planned.
Esparto’s breeder – Mr. Jerzy Białobok from Michałów State Stud was invited to the panel of judges this year, though, due to the ECAHO rules of conduct of shows, he must be replaced by the reserve judge while judging the classes that Esparto competes.
