Last weekend was very successful for Polish horses that took part at Casino Cup Baden show near Vienna. Total number of 109 horses entered this show. Michałów-bred Laheeb’s daughter Pustynna Droga (out of Pustynna Tarcza), representing United Arab Emirates, the Reserve Senior Champion Mare from Stroehen won the title of Senior Champion this time after class winning.
PS Pacos (Lucky Dream – Petreena) imported by Andrzej Wójtowicz and Tomasz Tarczyński, became Reserve Senior Champion Stallion after being placed second at 4–7-years old stallions beaten by US-bred Forever Besson by Besson Carol.
Yearling filly Garuna (Grafik – Gwarka), bred by Agnieszka and Andrzej Wójtowicz, did also
very well placed second (after Reserve Champion of Netherlands – Psadisha, br. Sax Arabians), highest scored for movement that day. Young son of Psytadel – Epolis (out of Egasta), bred by Wojciech Parczewski, was placed 4th beating some progeny of Khidar or FS Bengali.
– We are both happy with Tomasz – says Andrzej Wójtowicz. – This was the first show of Pacos and he did very well scored with 9 for type, movement and head and neck. He should be more masculine for sure but he has beaten quite good horses Absynt by Balaton or
Dakharuso by Koronec. I heard some opinions that he is a promising stallion. Maybe he will be shown at the autumn show in Janów Podlaski, depending on his condition after the trip. Next year he will compete at more shows. He covered 14 mares this year, also from outside studs so we gave him a lot of trust.
– I’m also happy with Garuna’s record – Wójtowicz adds. – Class winner had the same scores she was only better with one point in type. Garuna improved her movement being scored: 2×9 and 1×10. Despite the C class it was quite a strong competition. We are the only Polish breeders that went to 9 shows this season with good results.
