Last week of October one of the best and most entitled Ararat’s sons began his long trip to Brasil. Extreme 1999 (Ararat – Elegantkah/ Gwizd) is one of the best horses bred by Jadem Arabians, Belgium, well known for it’s Pure Polish breeding program. Stud’s owner Christine Jamar-Demeersseman, is Pure Polish horses’ lover and a frequently seen guest in Poland as well. It was her who leased and promoted Polish Tiriplecrowned Ekstern – All Nations Cup, Europe and World Champion while being on lease to Jadem Arabians.
Interesting fact is that the idea of breeding Extreme was also born in Poland. Once visiting our country Christine Jamar asked Polish authority – Izabella Pawelec-Zawadzka for advice for the best stallion for the bay Elegantkah, born in Belgium, daughter of Michałów Stud’s bred Gwizd and Kurozwęki-bred Eminencja by Algomej. Izabella’s choice was Ararat – the best Palas’ son available, she says – who was passing the extreme type and nice heads and besides, had completely different pedigree from Elegantkah. That should have been nice outcross breeding causing heterosis effect (features’ rampancy of progeny comparing with the features of parents due to the different genetic pool). And it happened indeed.
Amongst Extreme’s show titles the most important are: 2002 Top Ten World Junior Stallion and Junior Champion of Belgium, Orientalica Int. show Champion and BiS, Best in Show Emerald Trophy (C int.), International Senior Champion Stallion Ströhen show /Germany.
Extreme will have a lot to do in Brasil – besides spreading the Polish blood in 2008 breeding season he will also be prepared for shows (including Brasilian Nationals) by Rodolfo Guzzo at Guzzo Arabian Training in Campinas, near São Paolo.
At his maternal stud there are four generations of his offspring with good Ekstern’s granddaughters: Dona Kristina J (out of Danuta J by Ekstern), Tulip Cup B-show Champion Foal in Deurne and Golden Arabian Trophy, Belgium champion foal or Midnight Kiss J (out of Mauhiba J by Ekstern), champion foal at International show in Brecht. Also Michałów-bred Eberia – 2007 Towerlands A-show Reserve Champion Mare placed second in All Nations Cup (by Michałów-owned Palmira) – has a nice filly foal by Extreme at her side this year.
In 2008 breeding season frozen semen of Extreme will be available at Jadem Arabians (1750-2000 EURO).
