For the second year the Scandinavian Arabian Racing Association (SARA) and Scandinavian largest race course Täby Galopp announce the Arabian winter series in Sweden – informs IFAHR (International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities).

During 12 weeks, starting from 20th March a total of 7 races will take place, beginning on December 16th with race over 1200 m.

All races are open to international participation on equal terms. Unless conditions say “amateur race” the races are only open to professional jockeys or apprentices. All winter races are to be held at Täby Galopp in Stockholm (www.tabygalopp.se) and on all-weather surface (dirt). There are several trainers on-track that are willing to accept Arabian horses in training for the period – Täby Galopp has fine training facilities and houses about 400 horses. Training costs start at about Euro 820/month.
The winter races are for lower and medium class horses. The Swedish Jockey Club must have the full performance of the horse at least 2 weeks prior to first race in Sweden. All purses and races are handled in full by the Swedish Jockey Club, of which SARA is a full member. Purses in all races are 30.000 sek (about 3.260 Euro) except in the amateur race where it is 10% lower.
Money is paid by the Swedish Jockey Club directly to the owners account.
There are no tax deductions or similar. 10% of winnings goes to jockey and 10% to trainer.
