When most of us were busy with Christmas’ preparations a group of Polish breeders drove long way to see the result of the last spectacular import from US – Marwan Al Shaqab’s son QR Marc (out of Swete Dreams by Magic Dream CAHR), that arrived at the beginning of December to Jadem Arabians, Belgium, bought by Belgian breeder of Pure Polish horses Paul Gheysens, for the astronomical amount of $4 millions.
The interest in QR Marc in Europe is so big, that since he came to Jadem Arabians there were stallion’s presentations organized each week (QR Marc could have been seen on request during special group presentation only). Poles, who went to see Marc on 22nd December were the very first from Poland and probably one of the last to see the stallion closely at stud – the last chance to see QR Marc will take place in January. After that the stallion will be fulfilling his duties as a sire and a future show star being trained by Frank Spoenle who has also shown him during the before-Christmas presentation.
What Polish breeders have seen, filled the bill without a doubt – one of the trip members, Urszula Łęczycka confirms, that the guests were impressed especially by the beauty of the front, correctness of conformation and a good movement of QR Marc. After the presentation, spectators were going back to the new breeding center’s stables of Jadem Arabians few times to see the stallion standing in the corner box once more. In the effect of the trip, the first breeding to QR Marc was bought to Poland however the unofficial information says about some more Polish mares to be bred to this young US-bred stallion this season.
But there is a big interest in QR Marc not only amongst European breeders – also in the Middle East. While Poles were signing the breeding contract, one of the Middle Eastern studs bought a large number of breedings by phone – even without seeing the stallion in real. As the consequence of this purchase some more Polish-bred mares owned by the Middle Eastern owner will be expecting Marc’s foals next year.
QR Marc himself will start his show career for the new owner in Spring – competing at some Middle Eastern shows, and we will see what is the international jury’s opinion on this spectacular import.
The visit at hospitable Jadem Arabians ended with some other stars standing at Balen
presentation – as Borsalino K (Encore Ali – Keepsake by Huckleberry Bey) or Michałów-bred Werter (Eukaliptus – Walkiria by Mamluk) bought recently by the host of presentation. There was also 2007 foal crop shown to the spectators. The most admired by Polish breeders was the progeny of Ekstern daughters, sired by Pure Polish Extreme (Ararat – Elegantkah by Gwizd), that left Jadem for lease to Brasil recently.
