From among the Western European breeding offers that have been coming to our country of late, the one from the German stud of Murana Arabian Stud (ran by Michaela Weidner and Michael Verhoeven), which offers the semen of two of its chief sires, is especially worth mentioning. The first sire is a bearer of an interesting pedigree – the grey ALISHAAR EL BRI – harmonious and athletic, the son of the well-known in the Arabian world CH El Brillo (El Shaklan – AZH Baskvaraborne/AZH Naborr) and LM Alisha, granddaughter of the stallion Bey Shah on the spear side. A meaningful individual in the pedigree of Alishaar is his grandsire El Shaklan – multi-champion and superb sire, the father of Sanadik El Shaklan among others, whose few portions of semen have already been used with success in Polish breeding (vide El Dorada and Andaluzja).

„Alishaar El Bri is a very tall stallion (159 cm)”, says Michael Verhoeven. “Very typey and so far – a producer of grey offspring only. His progeny always has long legs and is very typey and elegant. He had offspring in Germany, Belgium, Kuwait, Denmark, United Kingdom, Czech Republic and the United Arab Emirates. Our breeding experience tells us that Alishaar El Bri works best with Polish and Russian blood. At the moment we have a very nice filly on the farm out of a Monogramm mare. The filly will be shown in 2008.”

The second of the offered stallions is the black and exotic DUBAI PASHA 1999, son of BJ Thee Mustafa and the mare Abbas Pasha I-11 by Abbas Pascha 1. Similar to his stablemate, he is also a representative of the Saklavi I d.b. male line. He also represents the subline of the outstanding Ruminaja Ali, grandsire of the renowned Gazal Al Shaqab. Dubai Pasha is a handsome and effective stallion, with an outrageously dished profile. His successes on the show arena include: a class win in the 2-year-olds category at the European Championships in Verona in 2000, as well as the title of Italian National Reserve Champion.

“His foals are very typey and are mostly black”, states Michael Verhoeven. “His offspring were very successful at the shows in 2007, gaining the titles of: Foal Champion at the international B-Show in Ströhen and German Reserve Foal Champion in Frankfurt, Germany. He had offspring in the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Germany. He produced good offspring with Polish and Russian mares.”

Both Alishaar El Bri and Dubai Pasha are represented in Poland by the Mała Wieś Stud (www.glowackiarabians.com.pl)

The foreign stallions are without a doubt an interesting supplement to the sire list offered by our State Studs. Especially since about 750 broodmares are located in the hands of the private breeders.
