Assisi is an ancient town, where Saint Francis was born. Two years after his death in 1226, when he was claimed a saint, in the north-western part of Assisi was founded the St. Francis basilica, now containing one of the greatest collection of works by XIII and XIVth century painters. The route of the endurance race leads through narrow streets of that picturesque town. “We are already awaiting beautiful views and unforgettable impressions”, says Beata Dzikowska, “and of course some good results”. Last year the event was promoted by the princess HRH Haya bint Al Hussein. There was also held a conference devoted to cultural, economic and turistic cooperation between Italy and the United Arab Emirates. Next year FEI is planning to organize in Assisi the European Championships.
