There was a change of the A-class show results in Hasselt. Viola Speier from the ECAHO Office informed the owner of Tamara LL (Gris El Jamaal – Sweet Alladina/Almaden), Johanna Ullström, that it was her mare who won the Senior Mares Gold Medal, while the Silver Medal was given to a previous winner, a Saudi-owned Abha Opalina (WH Justice – Om El Amira Estopa/Sanadik El Shaklan).
We have already mentioned the controversies about the judges’ verdict. Abha Opalina went second in her class, behind Bess Fa’Izah, who went lame during the championship and had to leave the ring. Abha Opalina, who remained at ‘the battlefield’, won the championship, but from the second place in the class, which is against the ECAHO rules. A group of presenters lodged an objection to the show organizer and the disciplinary committee.
It’s worth adding that, after the show ends, only an hour remains to file a complaint at a special ECAHO form and pay a bid bond. This time it was made on time, and the complaint was examined very quickly – only a week after the event.
