In August, on the 22nd and 23rd (Friday-Saturday), the grounds of the Polska AKF Stud in Nowe Wrońska near Płońsk will host a new ECAHO affiliated show, ranked as “C International”. The official name of the event is the Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival. After two days at the stud the event will be continued on Sunday (August 24th) at the Służewiec race track during the United Arab Emirates day. Polska AKF will be the sponsor of the international, A-ranked stakes race for 4 year olds and above over a distance of 1,600 m for the Al Khalediah Poland Cup, with the prize money totaling to 52,500 PLN.
Hubert Kulesza, the general director of Polska AKF, tells polskiearaby.pl:
“We would like to meet the expectations of Polish and European breeders and that’s why we decided to provide a high quality show already from its very beginnings, which would draw as many participants as possible. We are planning attractive in-kind prizes – very attractive, as a matter of fact. Our mission behind this Festival is to pay our respects to the Polish tradition of breeding Arabian horses. We believe that Poland deserves many shows. We would be very happy if it became the hub of such events in Europe. Janów Podlaski organizes a wonderful national show, but Poland should be an obvious place where European breeders, or even those from other continents, meet. We would like them to have a reason to come here more often and admire our country. We would like to promote Poland in a larger way and Arabian horses are one of our country’s symbols. We hope that by expanding our show we will also create an area for other endeavors associated with Arabian horses. Poland should be not only an excellent place for buying horses, but also for showing them.”
Władysław Guziuk, the director of Polska AKF stud, adds:
“It is our ambition to create a show of an international nature. We will do everything to make our guests comfortable and allow them to spend two pleasant days at the stud, and a third at the Służewiec race track.”
