The date of this year’s edition of the Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival is the 21st to 23rd of August (Friday-Sunday) – a weekend after the Polish National Show and the Pride of Poland Sale in Janów Podlaski. Similarly to last year, the first two days of the event will encompass the international show at Nowe Wrońska near Warsaw on the premises of Polska AKF, while the third day will bring the A-ranked race for 4 year old and older Arabian horses over 1600 m at Warsaw’s Służewiec track with a purse of 52,500 PLN in prize money for the Al Khalediah Poland Cup.
There will be some significant changes compared to last year’s event. First of all the show received the ECAHO affiliation of a B-ranked event. Second – this time there will be three finals: apart from the junior and senior championships there will also be a yearling championship. The amount of prizes has also grown. The main prizes, like last year, will be Mercedes-Benz cars, but the participants will also battle it out for cash prizes.
“We are very happy to have a B-ranked championship”, says Mr. Hubert Kulesza, the General Director of Polska AKF and the Festival’s host. “This raises the expectations: we are well aware that the challenge just got bigger. So we decided to enlarge the amount of prizes and to encourage the smaller breeders with cash prizes to also take part in the event. The participants will also encounter some other surprises, but for now it is too early to reveal all our cards. A very positive reception of the first edition and many thank yous from all over the world were very motivating for us. Now we “only” have to fulfill these expectations. We would like to not just match last year’s success, but to provide the event with a new kind of quality. We are working at full speed. Soon we will present the list of judges and other officials, as well as the terms for participation”.
The Festival has a new logo and new visual identification. The entries will be accepted from the 1st to the 24th of July.
More details about the event will be successively published on the Festival’s fanpage on Facebook:
