Almost 120 thousand euro (119800 exactly) is the result of the Michałów’s monthly tender (Saturday, October 7th), organized at the end of the week of breeding inspections at the State Studs. The most expensive Arabian mare of the four sold (in total eight were offered) was the 8 year old Endrra (Ekstern – Endorra/Pesal), in foal to Sahm El Arab. She was sold for 60 thousand euro to Egypt. The other three were sold to Italy: the two year old Flamia (El Omari – Flaminia/Gaspar), the 11 year old Wazira (Wachlarz – Wróżka/Ganges), in foal to Equator and the 9 year old Dżakarta (Piruet – Dombra/Eldon), bred to Empire. The stallion Larando (QR Marc – Laranda/Ekstern) was purchased by an owner from the UAE (Babel Stud Poland).
13 geldings were offered and only two of them will stay in their maternal stud. Some of the eleven that have been sold will go to an Italian stud specialized in breeding and training endurance horses, and some will travel to Germany.
The result seems to be more than satisfaying. Together with the half-bred mares, 25 horses were offered. Between the buyers that took part in the bidding there were guests from abroad that proved to be very effective and most of the horses sold will leave the country. Maybe the Polish breeders wait for the Winter Sale – as we remember, last year the majority of the mares sold at the December auction went to Polish private breeders. Anyway, the October tender is a good omen. It shows that there is demand for Polish horses. The potential buyers expect interesting offer, efficient bidding and prices that match with the horses’ quality. All that we could witness at Michałów Stud on Saturday.
