Yesterday (June 24th) the Mediterranean and Arab Countries Arabian Horse Championship in Menton on the French Riviera came to an end. During the show we saw several Polish horses, but none of them found the way to the podium. The best performance was offered by the Michałów-bred Pustynia Kahila (Kahil Al Shaqab – Pustynna Malwa/Ekstern), shown under the Polish flag, who won the title of Best European Horse; and Equator (QR Marc – Ekliptyka/Ekstern), on lease to Al Sheikh Stud from Israel, awarded with the Trophy Pegasus for Best Movement. Both horses placed second in their classes – Pustynia Kahila with a score of 92.63, and Equator with 92.75 pts, incl. 5×20 for movement – and both qualified for the finals.

The private breeding was also represented this year in Menton. The two-year-old Espaja (Aja Justified – Espanera/Kabsztad), br/o. by M Arabians Stud of Piotr Podgórny, placed 5th in the section B of her age category (score: 90.38). In the same class we saw the Falborek-bred Eralda (Emerald J – Enezja/Marajj), owned by Al Shiraa Stables (UAE). She was third (91 pts, incl. 2×20 for head and neck) and she entered the finals. Just one point more and she could have concluded the competition with the bronze medal.

In Menton the Janów Podlaski Auction catalogue made its debut as well. On the cover we find the Michałów’s Palanga, photographed by Glenn Jacobs in front of a crimson-coloured fabric.
