PZHKA conference: 3 new committees, plenty of foals

During the last weekend the attention of Polish Arabian horse breeders (and not only those associated) was focused on Janów Podlaski, which held the 12th PZHKA (Polish Association of Arabian Horse Breeders) General Conference.

It’s all about charisma

KLAUS GEORG BESTE – General Manager of Kuwait National Stud, Bait Al Arab. He has acted as General Secretary for the German Arab Horse Society for 22 years, as well as being a trainer of Arabian horses and a rider. Since 1985 he has been an international judge at Arabian shows (also at Janów Podlaski) and equestrian competitions, which allowed him to visit over 20 countries.

The ceremony of the 21st Darley Awards for the best Arabian racehorses and their breeders, owners, trainers and jockeys was held during the last annual Arabian horse show in Scottsdale, following the example of the Eclipse Awards, handed out each year to the most valiant Thoroughbreds.

Sad loss of Polish breeding
The foaling season is in full – in the late winter/early spring time in Poland every breeder get excited watching the next generation being born in the barn. Unfortunately, at the beginning of this season Polish breeding had to bid farewell to the two outstanding broodmares. Yesterday Białka Stud informed about the death of its most valuable senior – nearly 30 years old Pentoza. Month before Janów Podlaski lost one of its most significant broodmares of the past few years unexpectedly…
