As it was planned, American-bred stallions MVA Prince Vayu and Ontario HF arrived to their new home at Kielnarowa stud yesterday noon. The new owner – Mr Czesław Witko, gave us his first impressions: „Both stallions are in a very good condition. Few of our neighboring breeders already visited our stables. They were surprised with such a good type of these good racers. Comparing with our horses MVA Prince Vayu and Ontario HF are very athletic with strong croups and good long shoulders and also more solid legs. Besides, I must say that they have really Polish type so I suppose that mated with Polish mares they would not spoil the type but could even improve it. Ontario HF has already been used in breeding and he is very masculine in the character – he is interested in the new environment and the mares. I also realized why the previous owner of MVA Prince Vayu didn’t want to give this stallion away – Prince has an incredible character! I was walking with him showing the new places and working with him a little and he seems to be so friendly, calm and confident horse. I’m glad of him as it seems that he could be a kuhailan stallion giving calm and equable progeny!”
Polish Arabian Horse Breeders Society Chairman – Mrs Izabella Pawelec-Zawadzka, have not seen the new imported stallions yet but she has the similar expectations about them: „One thing that should be really emphasized is that Mr Witko searched for the stallions of the old Polish lines against the present trends of using stallions from French lines in racing Arabian horse breeding. Since last 40-50 years when the Arabian horse races started in US Americans improved Polish „O” line through Sabellina, Dyska or Forta families. Crossing them between each other they created the strong and fast horse that can compete against French horses that have not good opinion amongst some purists. Of course, racing Arabians bred in US have slightly different type than we used to – improving their performance abilities such as more straight head and neck profile due to the better air circulation, stronger shoulder or different croup’s shape but they still kept the Arabian type. If the Arabian horse races in Poland would develop and I hope so, I think that Arabian horse breeding will polarize into the groups of race, show and endurance horses. Stallions such as MVA Prince Vayu and Ontario HF representing their lines already mentioned will be highly desired especially when Orla-line is in regress of its racing scores last time. The result of using MVA Prince Vayu and Ontario HF in Poland is hard to forecast but it seems to be good” – she said for polskiearaby.pl .
