Last weekend the second mare representing Polish breeding at 2007 US Nationals ended her performance up. Michałów-bred and owned Emandoria became unanimous US National Junior Champion.
Earlier her ex-stablemate Elandra, also bred in Michałów but currently owned by Mystica Arabians, Australia, won US National Reserve Senior Champion Mare title.
Thanks to our US-correspondent Nancy Pierce we can give some impressions from the show.
‘The Junior Mares final was very exciting with some beautiful young mares being presented’, Nancy says. ‘The beautifully typey grey *Gazal Al Shaqab daughter, *Emandoria, was the crowd favorite from the beginning, but the lovely bay Kharmel BR shown by David Boggs, Alisson MO shown by Andrew Sellman; and French Psylk shown by Rodolfo Guzzo, all had loud cheering sections’.
‘The competition was fierce and many of us wondered if young handler Andrew Sellman would add yet another National Championship to his credit with the dark bay Besson Carol daughter, Alisson MO’, Nancy continues. ‘He had already won three or four at this show. French Psylk’s handler, Rodolfo Guzzo, got a terrific show out of her on the rail as the judges were walking about after each mare had been presented. Well-known trainer/handler Greg Knowles ran over and began excitedly coaching Rodolfo from just beside me on the rail, and
French Psylk was standing like a glistening golden statue as the judges passed, and each time one of the judges looked toward French Psylk, Knowles would hiss at Rodolfo to get the mare into perfect position. ‘We might steal this one!’ he whispered, excitedly. French Psylk was giving it all she had, but in the end it was the unbelievably typey, perfectly proportioned *Emandoria and the elegant Kharmel BR, who edged her out for the unanimous Champion and Reserve Champion titles!’
For many, there was no other horse besides *Emandoria in the ring, from the time she trotted boldly into the arena through the fog until her unanimous title was announced she claimed the American hearts with her Arabian perfection such as has rarely been seen in our show rings.
Amongst the group of Polish bred horses born during the dam’s lease to US yearling colt Aria Egzalt did not qualify to Arabian Yearling Colt/Gelding Breeders Sweepstakes finals but the Arabian Reining Horse Futurity 5 & Under Champion title was won by the other one: Kubla Khan NA – son of Michałów-bred and owned Kwestura and sired by Michałów-bred and owned Monar.
There are the selected results of Breeding championships placed below. This year Midwest Training Center owner – David Boggs had his days winning two champion and one reserve titles with his horses and amongst the sires Versace was undoubted leader – being a sire of both Junior Stallion Champion and Senior Reserve.
