This Friday, 7th December, at 10 am at Paris Expo center the World Arabian Horse Championships that are the part of a big equestrian event – Salon du Cheval start.
The Championships traditionally held under the patronage of HRH King of Morocco this year will begin with the very first European presentation of famous Egyptian “dancing horses” – a kind of dressage performed by Arabian horse and a rider accompanied with oriental music.
Polish competitors – as well as polskiearaby.pl representatives are on their way to Paris already.
Paris event is going to be an interesting „giant’s duel” this year. The real battle will be held especially in stallion’s group – colts and older. The great come back of 2006 World Junior Reserve Champion Marajj (Marwan Al Shaqab – RGA Kouress) has already been widely announced. The stallion has just came back from US (with Arabian Breeders World Cup Reserve Champion title) and is being prepared for World Championships by Scott Allman. Marajj’s owner – Albidayer Stud (UAE) doesn’t hide the goal: the stallion, before he starts his 2008 show season in the Middle East, is going to Paris for 2007 World Champion title. His paternal half-sibling – QR Marc (Marwan Al Shaqab – Swete Dreams), already famous across Europe even before coming to Jadem Arabians/Belgium will appear in Paris at the special flyers only – while breeders’ eyes will be turned on Paris event QR Marc will arrive at Jadem that will promote the stallion in the name of his new Belgian owners.
Amongst the older males 2006 World Reserve Champion Dakharo (br. Joy Gildersleeve US, o. Al Kalediah Stables, KSA) will probably try to improve the last year’s title. Dakharo won three A shows (Menton, Elran Cup and Towerlands) as well as Arabian Breeders World Cup in Las Vegas this year already. The strong competitor against him could be Eternity Ibn Navarrone-D (Ansata Sinan – Navarrone-P), b&o. Dion Arabians, that is treading on Dakharo’s heels this year with Reserve titles at Elran Cup, Towerlands and Menton and winner of 2007 All Nations Cup Championships. If he competes in Paris, he would have a chance to became a World Champion for the third time! It’s interesting how Polish stallion, Michałów-bred Esparto, on lease to Ajman Stud and trained by Frank Spoenle, will do in this group.
Amongst the youngsters should be Eternity’s son Hypnotic Ibn Eternity-D competing for the highest trophies – he already got the titles at European (reserve), Towerlands (reserve), Menton (champion) and Bordeaux Masters (champion) shows this year. Also Memphis 27 (El Amin – SA Micha Apal) from Swatam Arabians (2007 European Junior Champion) should be fighting against these two.
In fillies, many authorities and enthusiasts point out Venetzia (Versace – Giavanny), br. Rojo Arabians & M. Nichols (US), o. Al Shaqab Stud (Qatar), as the strong favorite for the champion title in Paris. This beautiful chestnut trained by Michael Byatt has already won the 2007 National Champion of Qatar, Menton and All Nations Cup titles. Against her few Polish junior mares will compete with the most successful amongst them all – Michałów-bred Pistoria that already gained the titles in 2007 European Championships (champion) and All Nations Cup (Top Five). But there will surely be Abha Opalina (WH Justice – Om El Amira Estopa) of Ses Planes who will try to grab the tile in Paris – after winning at Menton and being placed Reserve in Towerlands, All Nations Cup and second in her class at European Championships.
Polish Arabian horse fans can cross their fingers for Michałów-bred Palmira (Monogramm – Palestra). 2007 Polish National, All Nations Cup Champion and Top Five at European Championships Palmira is one of the favorites to the titles in Paris though Athenaa (Ashhal Al Rayyan – Ass Windi), br. Delyth Gamlin (GB), owned by Al Khalediah Stables will be hard to fight against – the mare has already won US Egyptian Event and Reserve Championships of Arabian Breeders World Cup as well as European Champion title. She already competed in World Championships being placed 2005 Top Ten.
The event will be attended by polskiearaby.pl representatives – please visit our site during the whole weekend for the hot news, comments and pictures straight from Paris Expo.
The official Salon du Cheval website is also provided by the organizers. Besides the practical info for competitors and visitors there is also a special site for the results of classes and championships prepared already (one can check the sponsors of each) as well as some videos announcing horses’ coming and special show program. Such good internet assistance gives us a hope for the results to be updated quite quickly after the classes however there is still no information about live stream that disappeared from World Championships’ sites since last year.
