As we were predicting, Pianissima (Gazal Al Shaqab – Pianosa/Eukaliptus) also won her class at Al Khalediah Show currently held in Saudi Arabia. She scored 94 points – the highest result of the day, including eight “twenties”! Further placed were Laha Al Khalediah from Saudi Arabia and Banafsaj from UEA.
Apart from Polish horses only the American-bred stallion QR Marc (Marwan Al Shaqab – Dreams/Magic Dream CAHR), owned by a Belgian breeder, was better than the Eastern-bred rivals and won his class. He scored 92,75, achieving the same result as an other Marwan Al Shaqab’s son – Baanderos (out of HB Bessolea/Besson Carol), but QR Marc had more points for type.
‘The show is incredibly exiting’, Krzysztof Poszepczyński from Chrcynno-Pałac says. ‘Polish horses’ beauty is outstanding and the judges see it. We are very happy about that! The public is perhaps not as spontaneous as at other international shows, but the number of supporters is not very large – only the people that have been invited’.
After Pianissima’s victory two classes were held – won by Eagleridge Passionata by Sanadik El Shaklan (92,75 points) and Bilkis Begum by Khidar (92,50 points).
Other two Polish-bred horses that came to Riyadh, Emiliusz, Fernando and Esparto, will compete tomorrow.
The Saudi television is broadcasting the whole show.
