The bay pure Polish filly – the first foal sired by Polish National Jr. Champion Stallion Equifor (Gazal Al Shaqab – Eqviria by Pers) bred by Janów Podlaski was born at Argyle, Texas at Sue Jones farm.
The filly was born on 1st February morning. Her dam is bay Ularia – daughter of Europejczyk and a mare inbred to Bask – Ulana (Wizjon [by Bask] – Ultima [by Bask]).
“I haven’t been so excited about a baby in ages – commented Sue Jones in talk with Marsha Parkinson – the filly is gorgeous….just spectacular!”
Equifor is on lease to Marsha Parkinson’s Canterbury farm since autumn 2006. Next mares bred to Equifor last year are going to deliver soon. As Marsha says, next due and in the foaling stall is Egeria (Eukaliptus – Emigracja by Palas), the full sister to Michałów’s multichampions and the world famous triumvirate: Emigrantka, Erlanda and Emigracja.

Last minute news from Marsha Parkinson: Egeria delivered a healthy filly as well! This is how she is described by Marsha: ‘She is very long legged, has an exquisite head, already has a long neck, and is very fancy. She is quite like her illustrious aunts in quality and I am looking forward to a show career with her. When have a rest she will be pictured and the photos will be passed to polskiearaby.pl! And Egeria will definitely be bred back to Equifor. This cross is wonderful and the resulting filly is of highest quality’, Marsha says.

The next mare waiting for Equifor’s foal is an exceptionally strong Kuhailan type Paleczka (Algomej – Palapejczyk by Europejczyk). Following this birth, the next mare in foal for March 4, is Walencia (Goliat – Wilejka by El Paso). She is the last and only daughter of the treasured Wilejka born in US.

‘It will be so interesting to see with what Equifor crosses the best’, explains Marsha. ‘Maybe like some of the superb stallions, he will cross well with both Saklawi and Kuhailan types. Since he is a blend himself, he could easily be that versatile’.
There are total of 27 foals to be born by Equifor this year.

But there is another exceptional foal to be born at Canterbury Farm this year (March 19th). This will be the final foal by immortal stallion Wojsław. The mare PA Gazelle was the one he was breeding when he had the rupture of the brain aneurysm and died suddenly. She is the only mare in foal for 2008 and the foal will be full sibling to wonderful mare Diwa born 2005. ‘This foal is Wojslaw’s final gift’, sums up Marsha.
