On 22-25 May in Columbus, Ohio (Region 14) for the 37th time The Buckeye Sweepstakes, being advertised as one of the most entered (besides Scottsdale, US Nationals and now – Las Vegas) show in the US. The Buckeye Sweepstakes is the event attended by Pure and Half-bred Arabian horses from all over US and Canada with over 250 in-hand and performance classes and the prize money of 50 000 $.
Buckeye is also told to be the prelude to the US Nationals – the winners from Columbus are often highly placed in the Nationals. Buckeye Sweepstakes Champion was for example LD Pistal (Magnum Psyche – Halana), US and Canadian National Champion as well; Aria group owned mare BHF Dark Angel (RSD Dark Victory – Crown Narada by Nariadni) – Buckeye and Canadian National Champion, Top 10 US Nationals; and her daughter – NBW Angels Kiss (by Magnum Psyche), Buckeye Sweepstakes and US National Champion as well as Canadian National Champion Futurity Filly. Another Magnum Psyche daughter – twice Buckeye Champion (also AOTH) and twice Top Ten US National Champion (also AOTH) and Canadian National Reserve Champion is Psychedelic RB (out of RA Nahlima by Nabiel). Twice unanimous Buckeye Sweepstakes Champion was also the sire himself, Magnum Psyche – twice US National Champion and Canadian National Champion Stallion.
So there is a big chance to see the future show stars in Columbus this year – as the organizers announce the record number of entries.
