During the last few days (9th till 11th February) a group of breeders from Al Khalediah Stable (Saudi Arabia) visited the Polish branch of this stud. They arrived in our country just a week after ending the International Arabian Horse Festival, organized at Al Khalediah Farm which is 100 kilometers west from Riyadh, in the heart of Nejd desert.
The first inspection has given a very good impression – emphasized the representative of AKF Poland. The grade of horses condition and care, as well as preparing the object to the review was very positive. A very good and balanced development of last year offspring (five fillies and four colts) born in Poland received recognition as well. It confirms that the adaptation period of horses from Saudi Arabia to new and very different conditions of our climate went very well. Even a nineteen-year-old mare, the Janów Podlaski-bred Saba, after spending six years in the desert seems to be glad to be back in her country. The guests from
Saudi Arabia have seen in total twenty four horses which have been shown at the covered riding hall which is a part of the stud complex. The group of fillies by Padrons Immage won a big recognition, as well as the colt Kassir Al Khalediah, by Tiwaiq (desert-bred) out of Katch Me out of Dormane (her mother was bred in the United States but she is a pure Polish pedigree). Taking into consideration that Tiwaiq’s offspring is doing excellent at horse racing tracks the Saudi breeders have a great racing hope about the colt. The horses were presented by the handler Marek Demczuk which was his guest appearance.
