Just like the show in Wels, Austria, the best known in Poland Scandinavian show, Scandivian Open, held in Blommeröd (Sweden), has celebrated its beautiful jubilee – the 20th anniversary. The Janów Podlaski State Stud crew went there with a strong and efficient crew. In the Junior Mares Championship the Gold Medal and the title of Best in Show went to Primera (Eden C – Preria by Ararat), who beat the British WW Indih (OR Marc – Ivernah by Crusader) in the ultimate contest. An American-bred Rohara Exotica (Da Vinci FM – Special Treat by Marwan Al Shaqab), has won the Bronze Medal. In the Senior Mares Championship a reserve champion title was won by Cenoza (Ekstern – Celna by Alegro), who was beaten by a Brazilian-bred Tamara LL (Gris El Jamaal – Sweet Alladina by Almaden). Alabama (Gazal Al Shaqab – Altona by Eukaliptus) came back home with the Bronze Medal.

The Mała Wieś private stud can be really satisfied – in Junior Stallion Championship the home bred Eternal (FS Bengali – Ewitacja by Ganges) won the Bronze Medal. He was beaten by a German-bred Juvel OS (WH Justice –Swana by Kubinec), and a Swedish-bred Bernhard (Rohara Bacara – Tosca by TC Kaszmir).

In the Senior Stallion Championship all medals were won by Polish-bred horses – two Gazal Al Shaqab sons and one son of Emigrant. Equifor (out of Eqviria, by Pers) won the Gold Medal, a Michałów-bred Lissar (out of Larissa, by Eukaliptus), who was sold last year during the Selection Sale for EUR 19 000 to Denmark – the Silver Medal, while Eurykles (out of Eutona by Etogram) was awarded with the Bronze Medal. Next year first Polish foals by Equifor will be born, so we will also learn his breeding value, apart from, proven once again, an exceptional show value.

Just like Michałów State Stud in Wels, Janów Podlaski State Stud representatives were difficult guests in Sweden – they arrived at a dinner on time and left with the whole set of family cutlery. We suspect that certain shows organizers, planning anniversary events, became anxious, as Polish horses may arrive and spoil the whole game… But seriously, it was another great occasion to promote Polish-bred Arabian horses in our continent, probably recorded much further, among potential buyers who are going to attend this year’s Janów Podlaski auction.
