The Belgian photographer Glenn Jacobs, currently living in Doha, Qatar, will be the photographer for the 2017 Pride of Poland catalogue. Aside from being a show horse trainer and handler, he works as breeding manager at the Qatari Al Naif Stud.

Glenn studied Graphic design at Sint-Lukas Brussels, the university college exclusively dedicated to art and design. He has collaborated with “Tutto Arabi” magazine for various projects and his photos have been published by “National Geographic” among others.

„I feel honoured to have been asked to photograph the horses for the auction”, says Glenn Jacobs. „It is a privilege to capture even a small part in time of a 200 year tradition of breeding extraordinary Arabian horses for this event that attracts people from all over the world. As I live in the Middle East, the majority of my photo shoots I have done there as well, so this will be my first time to photograph horses in Poland”.

„First time I visited Poland was in 1993”, he continues. „We went by car from Belgium and it was a stunning adventure. I was only 17, though I still remember vividly, the horses and farms left an everlasting impression; it was an amazing introduction to the beauty of what is the Polish Arabian horse, and to the extraordinary history, art and culture of Poland. It was also the year that Monogramm was leased to Michałów; one of the most beautiful stallions I ever met at that time and until today one of the best moving horses I have experienced seeing live. It is rare to encounter a horse that gives you goosebumps and certainly he is one of those few that had that capacity and quality. Meanwhile over the years since then I had the pleasure of visiting the Polish stud farms and auctions several times and always it has been a breathtaking experience”.
