Today the list of horses for the Pride of Poland 2017 (August 13th) and the Summer Sale 2017 (August 14th) has been released. In total there are 58 mares and 4 stallions offered. 22 horses are offered by Janów Podlaski Stud, 19 by Michałów Stud, 5 by Białka Stud and 16 horses are private-owned. The list is arranged in alphabetical order; the classification of the horses to the Pride of Poland Sale and to the Summer Sale will be announced later.
The Arabian horse enthusiasts will find a lot of interesting names and pedigrees on the list. For sure the young, three year old Janów-bred Prunella (Abyad AA – Pradera/ Hlayyil Ramadan), National Gold Junior Champion Mare 2016 and Bronze Champion Filly from Radom 2016, will draw their attention; as well as the Chrcynno Palace-bred Psyche Victoria (Ekstern – Pallas-Atena/Ecaho), the most titled horse of this year’s list, who in 2016 returned to the show ring and won gold in Buksza (Poland) and Chantilly (France). Other well known horses are, among others, the Janów’s Anawera (Piaff – Altamira/Ekstern), silver champion from Buksza 2016, or Michałów’s Emmbla (Al Maraam – Embra/Monogramm), gold medalist from Wrocław 2011. Michałów is offering also Laranda (Ekstern – Larissa/Eukaliptus), whose offspring is doing very well on the show rings: her daughter Latona (by El Nabila B) could be seen recently at several shows in Europe and the Middle East (class winner in Aachen, among others), and her son Larando (by QR Marc) was successful in Poland. Janów, in turn, offers Etira (Eden C – Etnologia/Gazal Al Shaqab), Gold Champion Mare from St. Petersburg Int. 2016.
Five horses from the list are descendants of the fashionable Kahil Al Shaqab (Alsara out of Alegra by Ganges, Echo Ariadna out of Echo Kallisto by Pamir, Parsuna out of Piraneza by Ecaho, and the stallions Eukor out of Etona by Etogram and Pasados out of Passionaria by Gazal Al Shaqab); six mares are Ekstern daughters (Ekstera out of Eunona by Eukaliptus, the mentioned above Laranda and Psyche Victoria, Paeksa out of Pasyma by Piaff, Pustynna Rosa out of Pustynna Róża by Emigrant and Wołogda out of Wanilia by Alegro); there is one Laheeb daughter – El Empiria (out of Empiryka by Monogramm) and one Shanghai daughter, Gerda out of Golteria by Galba. The fans of the classical Polish blood will find horses by Piaff, Wojsław, Piruet, Aslan and Wachlarz.
There is no one super star on the list who would guarantee a record price of all-time but it’s a very solid group of horses that should attract those who value Polish pedigrees. The mares offered have for sure the chance to become meritorious dams at their new homes.
