Next show to be announced for 2008 season is 5th Dubai International Arabian Horse Championships, run under the patronage of HH Sh. Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and UAE Minister of Finance & Industry. Total amount of prizes of this prestigious ECAHO affiliated show increases from USD 1 million to 4 million in 2008!
The show will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 20th to 22nd March and again it is the final of Dubai Gold Cup, an international series. The series will consist of select Arabian horse shows throughout Europe affiliated with ECAHO (European Conference of Arabian Horse Organizations) with the final show being held in Dubai in March 2008. Horses will gain points through competing at the select shows and if they in turn compete in Dubai they will be eligible to win a generous prize. Prizes will be awarded to the horse with highest points accumulated for the four categories: fillies, colts, mares & stallions as follows:
• Menton, Borgloon and Towerlands Shows Champion: 10 points
• Reserve Champion: 8
• 1st in class: 5
• 2nd in class: 3
• 3rd in class: 2

Arabian horse shows participating:
• Championship de la Mediterannee, Menton, France
• El-Ran Cup, Borgloon, Belgium
• U.K.I.A.H.S. Towerlands, United Kingdom
• Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, Dubai, UAE

Final points awarded in Dubai will be double for any other show in the series so competition will be at its best and can change everything even when the three other shows have already been held.

The Dubai Gold Cup series is open to all horses eligible to enter any of the above A shows (according to ECAHO rules the horse must be placed 1–5 in the class at a national show or ECAHO A or B show or 1– 3 in the class of ECAHO C show).

In the 2006/2007 Dubai Gold Cup nearly 300 horses from 14 countries competed and it was quite successful for Polish breeding: Michałów-bred Eberia (owned by Jadem Arabians) was Dubai Gold Cup Reserve Senior Mare while Esparto (Michałów bred and owned, on lease to Ajman Stud) was placed 1st in his class and currently owned by Polish private breeder Bresilia was 2nd in B section of two years old fillies.

The Championship will again be enhanced in 2008 with the staging of the Dubai International Horse Fair. Both these events are open to the public free of charge.
