In 2004 the Janów Sale took place already for the 35th time, so August 15th marked another anniversary. The catalogue issued this year had an experimental character – an A5 format, with a shape of a rectangle lying on its longer side and sepia-coloured photos. The names of the horses were written vertically, by the right edge of the page, which was not very legible.

The prices achieved at this sale reflected the current trends for show horses. Three among four of the highest prices were paid for Monogramm daughters bred at Michalów: Palestyna, grey 1994 (out of Palestra/Penitent) – 300 thousand euro to the US; Eskalopka, grey 1994 (out of Estancja/Palas) 120 thousand euro to the US. The last two were separated by an outstanding racing mare from the famous Janów damline of Sabellina, Savvannah, bay 1997 (Monarch AH – Sarmacja/Gil), winner of the Oaks, Criterium St. and the Europa Cup, inbred to Sasanka, with a coefficient of success of 14.65. For 135 thousand euro she was sold to Saudi Arabia. Such high individual prices contributed greatly to the outcome of the Pride of Poland Sale, which amounted to 1 million and 141 thousand euro, although only 19 mares were sold.
