JERZY ZBYSZEWSKI, better known as George Z, was born and graduated in Poland, but has been living in the US for 27 years. Prior to his departure, he worked at state studs. In 1981 he found his way to Sir William Farm in Arizona and so his international career began. He is an exceptional figure in the world of Arabian horse breeders and enthusiasts – it is thanks to him that stars such as Emanor, Kwestura, Zagrobla, Fallada, El Dorada, Ganges or even Pianissima came to the US. Apart from that he is a renowned judge and expert on Arabian horse breeding.

No Triple Crown in USA in the 2008 racing season

Unfortunately no filly swept the crown this year. The third leg of the Coast to Coast Triple Crown racing tournament ending with the Cre Run Oaks (G2), a 1 1/16 mile endeavour on July 5, dashed all hopes for the crowned winner in the 2008 USA Arabian horse racing season.

The weekend of the 17th-20th of July was a busy date for the Kuźnia Nowowiejska Equestrian Center (near Żyrardów), as the club held competitions in endurance racing: the Polish National Championships for Young Riders and Juniors, an international competition and an All-Polish competition in this discipline. Altogether nearly 40 pairs from Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania and Sweden competed in 7 contests.

The Sunday competition at Vilhelmsborg, Denmark, began with the class of 4-6-year-old mares. Ten beautiful contenders appeared with Janów-bred Pieta by Gazal Al Shaqab (owned by Halsdon Arabians) among them. She scored 91,63 points including a “20” for movements and placed second beaten by German Aishaa by A.S. Natsir Apal

Last weekend Polish bred horses were competing at several shows in two continents.
